FR [Bauru/BR], Ricky [Lisboa/PT], Amani1977 [São Paulo/BR] and Gomz1984 [São Paulo/BR] present us this mix of waves and truly unique sounds drawing inspirations from a rich blend of styles. This interesting group of very different but yet very relatable people came together through music to release this compilation of 40 tracks, 10 tracks produced by each one of them.
Rythms are thought out to create a sequence that moves from similar influences and high and low BPMs, with subtle nuances and different paths that yet somehow it all pulls together strongly and consistently.
Their encounter happened over meetings of producers and beatmakers that regularly took place in Brazil with “Beat Brasilis” and now the concept makes its way into Portugal’s music scene with “Beats Sessão da Tarde” that delivers with every single reunion a combo of amazing samples throughout the music venues and vinyl shops around Lisbon. It’s a simple but brilliant idea to unite people with keen and talent to listen to one album and present their own singular version of what they heard. You will undeniably come across new artists that are playing with samples and drum machines.
From the playgrounds of producing and beatmaking the four converged from different generations. While Amani is known for producing for Mcs, working with underground rap artists from Brazil, he meets Gomz, and then FR came along combining their experience and their fascination for machines used to produce the early days hip hop tracks, always having vinyl as base of sampling. Fast forward a couple of years, Ricky emerge from a new generation of beatmakers at one of the events taking place in Lisbon and things just clicked. MPC and SP machines are best friends and the influences are all there for them.
The compilation takes you on a high of beatmakers flowing through funk beats, jazz, Brazilian music and 90’s and lo-fi hip hop. Discovering these blend of backgrounds is part of the experience, and as you progress through the tracks is hard not to become the waves.

Enquanto Amani é conhecido por produzir para Mcs, trabalhando com artistas de rap underground do Brasil, ele conhece Gomz, e depois surge FR combinando suas experiências e o fascínio que possuem por máquinas usadas para produzir faixas dos primórdios do hip hop, sempre utilizando o vinil como base de sampling. Alguns anos depois, Ricky surge de uma nova geração de beatmakers em um dos eventos que acontecem em Lisboa e as coisas simplesmente clicam. As máquinas MPC e SP são suas melhores amigas e as influências estão integradas.
A compilação nos leva ao beatmaker high, sons que fluem através de batidas funk, jazz, música brasileira, hip-hop dos anos 90 e lo-fi. Descobrir essa mistura de backgrounds faz parte da experiência e, à medida que você avança pelas faixas, é impossível não se tornar parte dessas ondas.
